For Consciousness, ego is not a problem. Consciousness does not try to control the ego. But ego can be transformed when it contacts Consciousness. This is the Way To Enlightenment according to the Oshana Teaching. It's different, it's subtle but then you didn't want the same-old-same-old ways did you?
